Day Two in Arizona

So today I hung out with my family and got up ridiculously early because the relatives we're staying with go to bed early and wake up at like 5. Ugh. So even though I'm going to bed at like...midnight or later, I end up waking up around 6 due to the general chatter in the house. And then I say to myself, "Oh, I'll just go to bed early today." But then today rolls around and I'm terribly awake. I mean, it's only 8:46...but I know if I don't get to bed soon I am going to be the grumpiest bunny in the morning.

Anyways, today there was a family get-together chili dinner at my Aunt Susan's place (she's the one with the super cute yorkie) and we all ate chili (duh) and cornbread muffins (with butter and honey, yes please) some amazing cinamon rolls and some pumpkin bread. Not to mention a tasty mix of some Kinky vodka with Sprite. It was delish.

So after dinner I was going to go on a walk to take some more photos and Lydia (my little cousin) wanted to come along. I didn't take very many pictures because we were walking and talking and then quickly walking away from some fast approaching wild dogs, but I did snap the few that you see here. We were pointing out bugs and animals to each other and she was cracking me up.
She was talking about how she once thought she had some cactus in her shoe and it turned out to be just leaves and how even she could be wrong. I told her everyone is wrong sometimes and she replied "Once I didn't even think trees came from seeds!" Too cute, right? Then she picked up this little rock and asked me to photograph it for her because it looked like a seed.

It's amazing how our minds work so differently when we're children. I hope I get to play a small part in Lydia growing up because she is an amazing kid.
