So Tolmie is this beachy-type place that is relatively close to Evergreen, and the other day I decided that my friend Darrick and I should go just for kick and giggles because I had only been in the summer. In the PNW there are way more rocky beaches than sandy beaches, which in my opinion doesn't really make it a beach so much as a rocky shoreline, but it is a beach for up here nonetheless I suppose. Either way they're still gorgeous and relaxing places, so I thought I'd share some photos that I took on our little day trip.

Also, I have no idea who this guy is, just so you know. He just made for some interesting shots. I never saw him catch anything though, which is kind of sad because he was there before we got there and after we left. He was pretty much waist deep in the water by the time we left.

I really enjoy the way the colors of the rocks added to the photos I took. I was also just really pleased to have a place to fiddle with my 50mm lens I got for Christmas, because I am in love with that lens. The depth of field is just fabulous.

And that's it! As much as I bash the northwest (not so much on here, but if you've ever talked to me more than once I can pretty much guarantee I've said something or other about hating Washington) it really is a beautiful place. Sometimes. I could still do without the gray and rain. Although it's sunny today and I'm actually planning another trip back to the beach today. Don't get me wrong, I'd still pick Arizona over this state in a second, but I think I need to remind myself from time to time that is is a gorgeous place.
