Something Old...

Sunday, May 5, 2013

     I was trying to do a spin off of the whole "something old, something new..." wedding thing for my post, but I don't think it was as obvious as I intended, so I thought I'd let y'all know that that's what I was thinking haha. Anyways, this whole outfit is centered around my dad's old military jacket from when he was active duty. My mom found it while she was packing and kept it out for me because, even though it's a men's large, she knew I'd want it.
    Since camo and soft-grunge is really in right now, I figured I could pull it off if I belted it and just rolled up the sleeves and wore it with some more punky-type accessories. The shirt was really just for the sleeves because it was super breezy on this day, but I feel like it ended up looking pretty snazzy if I do say so myself.
     I also took a ton of photos on this day because the sun was out and I actually decided to walk farther than five steps outside of my apartment, and because of that I was in a more secluded spot and felt comfortable taking photos since I wasn't snapping them in-between bursts of college kids walking around. I'll definitely be using this spot more often as it was so picturesque.

{JACKET: Vintage I guess? SHIRT: Old Navy JEANS: Hollister BOOTS: Candies/Kohl's LIPS: Myth/MAC}

     I've been pretty mopey lately due to my parents leaving. They took off early this morning, and I had an 8 hour shift today, so I said goodbye to them yesterday, which was really hard.
     I hope everyone is getting as much sunshine as I have been lately.

Love to all,
