50's Picnic

     So one of the things my mom and I always like to do whenever we're together is hit up thrift stores and see what we can find. We love showing each other all the crazy hideous things that reside at thrift stores and having a good laugh, but also finding those one-of-a-kind gems that you just wouldn't find anywhere else. My shirt in this outfit is one of those awesome finds that just pops out. I just picked up the skirt at K-Mart a few days before and when my mom picked up the shirt we both said, "This would go perfect with that skirt!" It was a great moment.

{SHOES: Charlotte Russe TOP: The Limited, thrifted SKIRT: Bongo BRALETTE: Victoria's Secret RING: Gift LIPS: Maybelline 24hour gloss in All Day Cherry}

     Sorry for the ridiculous amount of boobage in these shots. It's weird bc when I looked in the mirror I swear it didn't look like that much, I guess I'll just blame the camera for now haha. I shall take this boob-centered moment to mention my absolute love for Victoria's Secret and their line of bandeaus and bralettes. Being a girl with a bigger chest-to-body configuration going on, button-ups used to cause me an unimaginable amount of grief because I could never find one that appropriately fit both my chest with a bra on and yet didn't sag around the rest of my body. For years I wouldn't wear them at all, but when I finally (and a little late to the game) discovered pretty lace bandeaus and bralettes, it's like a whole new world opened up to me! I could now buy button-ups that fit my waist and leave them open where the buttons would usually pull and make awkward keyholes in the shirt. The best thing about bralettes is that you don't have to worry about them slipping at all because of their little straps and they look just like I'm wearing a tank when under most things, so they're totally appropriate for my job at Old Navy. /end boob rant.

  1. Such a cute outfit, I was thinking very 50's even before I read the title! I love the gingham shirt, it's perfect, I've been trying to find one just like it for myself but little luck so far. Can I also say that I love your haircut, it's so cute!

    1. Thank you so much! The shirt really was just a totally lucky find! ^^ As for the hair, it took some guts, but I'm pretty happy I cut it off haha

    2. Also, I just realized that you're Dresses on a Clothesline! I absolutely love your blog!
