White Tee & Skinny Jeans // Dressing Up Your Dress Code

Sunday, March 16, 2014

     I've decided to start a little segment here called "Dressing Up Your Dress Code" as some inspiration for bland or otherwise unexciting work attire. Now my work at Old Navy doesn't usually employ any sort of dress code, just simple rules like, "no spaghetti straps" or "no flip flops," things of that nature, however on certain days we do have an assigned outfit, usually color assignments, or simple combinations, etc. and my "skinny jeans and white tee" day got me thinking that there are drab ways to do a dress code, and there are ways of snazzing it up a bit, which I tried to do here for y'all.
     I actually ended up buying this shirt off the clearance rack at work when I was too hot in my sweater one day, but it worked out seeing as I could incorporate it in my dress code the next day and I'm pretty sure I didn't own a completely white tee at the time. Silly me all my clothes are pretty colorful or patterned. Oh well. Anyways, I was just going to put on the shirt with some jeans and call it good, but the nautical print on the shirt had me wanting to play up the nautical theme.

{SHIRT: Old Navy JEANS: American Eagle BOOTS: Etienne Aigner BRACELETS: Old Navy WATCH: Marc by Marc Jacobs NECKLACE: Old Navy HEADBAND: Claire's BELT: Target EARRINGS: Target LIPSTICK: Maybelline Super Stay 24 hour color in All Day Cherry}

     Now I don't have many dress code days, but I definitely want to continue showing you my own twist on them when I do, but I was also thinking that if any of you had any ideas or dress codes of your own you might want to see snazzed up you could always hit me up in the comments!

     I hope everyone is having a lovely evening.
