Busy Being A Cupcake

I wore this yesterday out to a brunch date that Michael and I had, because, why not? I mean, this dress! It had been calling my name on ModCloth for years, it is soooo me! I bought it to wear for my 21st birthday figuring that would finally be a good enough excuse to go ahead and make the purchase, but chickened out of actually wearing it because things get cold in December. It hit me yesterday though that I shouldn't need any occasion other than a nice day to put on this gorgeous thing. So silly that I kept looking for one. So on it went (also because it was long enough to fully cover my still healing tattoo) and out we got!

We took these pictures at the park around Capitol Lake here in Olympia. I always forget what a beautiful place it is when the weather is nice. It's all filled up with families, or couples having cute picnicy dates, or runners, or the occasional person doing yoga in the field. This is the beauty of the place, you can go there to do your own thing and no one gives you weird why-are-you-having-your-boyfriend-take-photos-of-you-you-self-centered-lady looks. It was so great to be able to go around and have Michael take my photos and not have anyone make me feel awkward, which is accomplished very easily, believe me. It was great.

The day was gorgeous and going inside to start editing my essay was a bit heartbreaking, but it was necessary and I still needed to write my page in Irish. Thankfully after M left for work, my girl Kenzie popped by and we watched Up while I wrote my page in Irish. It was so good to have her over. She went on the trip with my class as well, and so familiar faces from Ireland are helping my weird transition back into life here. I feel pretty much into the swings of things again, but just seeing the people that lived it with me have made it a lot easier. Plus, Kenzie is just all sorts of cool anyway, so I want to chill with her all the time.
