Some Resolutions

Saturday, January 3, 2015

I'm usually not one for New Year's resolutions. I never stick to them (what a shocker!) and thus just feel it pointless to make them. I am however also the kind of person that feels exponentially more motivated to accomplish a goal if I have someone working to achieve it with me. Here's where Michael comes in. We both know we need to get into shape (or back into shape in his case, I myself have never been in good shape haha) and start eating healthier, so we actually plan to do things about it this year!

We've already started going on daily treks with Chai, which sadly means more exercise than usual for us already (we've become quite sedentary lately, it's disgusting), we've just been walking around our road and popping into little paths made by other hikers or deer and exploring the woods around us, which is really so beautiful. The light powdered sugar dusting we got a bit back was still on the forest floor when we took these photos, although it is all melted now as we've been getting a bit of rain. I think the best part of these hikes is that, not only can I already feel it lifting my mood, but Chai is such a little mountain climber! I mean it! She adores these hikes and she keeps right up with us, jumping over branches, bounding up hills, and conquering the forest! It's insane! Michael and I are so proud. She's never once backed down, even when we were breathing deeply and going up quite a steep hillside she was right by our sides. We never thought we'd be getting a hiking companion when we decided (well, ok, I decided) upon a Pom for a puppy, but boy were we wrong. It's so inspiring and fantastic to have her out with us achieving our goals.

::Her Look::
gifted jessica simpson leggings :: gifted leg warmers :: gifted scarf :: pink thermal :: l.l. bean boots :: gifted beanie :: rainbow jacket

::His Look::
old navy top :: moncler jacket :: levi jeans from marshalls :: old scarf :: rugged outback boots

This obviously isn't one of my usual outfit posts, but I liked the photos and figure they went well with the resolution talk as it's our hiking attire.

What're your resolutions? Let me know!

  1. That last portrait of you, Mariah, is beautiful! So lovely. Love your description of little Chai in the woods. So cute! She's a little gal with a lot of guts! Yay Chai!
