Seattle Sweet Spots

Sunday, February 15, 2015

Since Michael worked on the actual Valentine's Day, we decided to celebrate it a day early. After I got out of class, Michael and I drove up to Seattle for a day he had planned for us. It started out by wandering the market, each of us stopping at our favorite little places, a late lunch, and then a small performance of Scottish and Irish love songs preformed by a band one of his high school teachers is a part of. I decided to take some photos of our stops and compile a post for y'all of our go-to spot on a quick day date!

Mee Sum Pastry
First up was a stop at Michael's favorite snack spot, Mee Sum Pastry! He always gets a hom bow and eats it up right quick. I've only had bites, but they're pretty darn tasty, so I'd suggest giving it a try if you're in the area.

Cinnamon Works
This little bakery became one of my repeat spots years ago because they have a fantastic (and very tasty) selection of vegan pastries. I'm not vegan and I never was, but I did used to have a very bad milk allergy, so anything vegan was safe for my tummy! Even if you have no dietary restrictions, I highly recommend this place because the people are always super friendly and the treats are beyond yummy. I always get the lemon poppyseed things. Yum. Also, as a bonus, my absolute favorite performer plays on the same corner as this little place. He plays the piano magically. And I do mean magically.

Kells Irish Pub and Restaurant
Michael and I went to this pub before I went to Ireland and I'd been wanting to return ever since I got back to see if the food they offered was actually legit Irish food. The service is always friendly and fantastic and the food (not totally authentic by any means) is beyond delicious. While it wasn't what I ate in Ireland, I'm beginning to think nothing will be until I get to go back. Nevertheless, it does offer a great atmosphere and yummy food, so it's worth a pop in if you're interested.

We stopped into a fantastic tea place called the Perennial Tea Room after we ate, but it was too dark for me to get photos, and I may have been so full that I forgot. What I didn't forget was to pick up some more coconut pouchong. I first bought some years ago on a girl's trip with my friend Ashley and I was so pleased that they still had it. It is the creamiest tea I have ever tasted, so you must pick some up if you go. It's not even an option.

I hope this wasn't too boring for anyone, and if you liked this post, please let me know so I can make more for you guys!

  1. I enjoyed this post! While I love your style posts, I also love seeing recaps like this that show us what you and Michael are up to! It's so fun to see into your lives a little bit!

    In a Nutshell...

    1. Ah I'm so happy for your feedback! Thank you! I always find myself feeling I need to share more personable posts and not just talk about clothes, so I'll definitely work on more like this!
