Someday the wisdom of our mothers will belong to me as well
and I will water you with the knowledge I once drank
Nurturing your roots from the stream
of strength carved through adversity
Until then I shall remain a seed just sprouting
into the powerful weeping willow we will all become
So graceful in our succulent sadness
mourning the trials of our dandelion daughters
In a world conquered by the maclura men

Poetry has always been a huge passion of mine, and I figured what better platform to share my own pieces than my blog? The above poem is something that came to me as I was sitting in our garden taking these photos. It's obviously still a work in progress, but I felt like sharing. Let me know if you're into seeing some occasional poetry pieces, written by me, or not.
Now let's talk about A Fair Trade World! They contacted me a little bit ago, wondering if I would be interest in featuring one of their necklaces in a post of mine. I've never gotten the chance to feature a product that is actively working towards a better tomorrow, so I eagerly jumped at the opportunity. They work with women in Uganda, who create these beautiful pieces and are paid a fair trade price for their product, helping them to create a sustainable source of income! You can read more about them here, but basically they are a fantastic company that you should check out right now. Right now! They sent me the gorgeous necklace I am wearing here, and I can't wait to style it again and take some closer photos so y'all can see the variety of colors and textures of the beads. I feel so extremely lucky that I am able to wear one of these incredible pieces, and help to raise awareness of this company. Fair trade products are something I am beyond passionate about, you should be too.
