5 Minute Outfit

Don't let the outfit change fool you, these photos were taken on the same day as my graduation. After I walked we ditched the ceremony, which they ask you not to do, but my step-dad was way too hot in the sun (he has MS), so we needed to get the hell out of there. Plus, traffic is so bad if you leave with everyone else that it took Michael two hours to leave his friend's graduation he attended a few years prior. No thank you. So we left early and went to our dinner reservation at the Japanese steak house in town. However, since we left way early, we arrived way early. My parents bumped up our reservation no problem, but then it struck me that I didn't want to eat potentially messy food (read: the yum-yum sauce) in my nice graduation dress. M and I figured we had time to run to Forever 21 real quick since our reservation wasn't for a good while, only to find out we now had five minutes to get to it. So, I did the fastest shopping I have ever done in my life and came up with this outfit (thanks mom!).

I am actually super pleased with how the whole ensemble turned out. Not too bad for a five minute shopping trip, if I do say so myself. Although, in retrospect, a white top wasn't the best choice for avoiding a mess, but I managed to keep it clean all meal, so no harm done. I'm pretty in love with every piece I got, but the beads and general bling falls off this top like nobody's business. It's quite disheartening really because it is so utterly fabulous otherwise. I didn't even realize it had an open back until I bought it and put it on. So cute! Now I don't know whether I should try to return it or not. It is super cute, but falling apart with every step I take. Plus it snagged the embroidery on the kimono, which is less of a big deal, but still a drag.

In other news, please ignore the ragingly huge mosquito bites on my legs in these photos. They're gone now thank goodness, but they were bad...oooo let me tell you. No fun. Also, our weather has been super nice, which I am loving, and I am still busy running myself ragged seeing all my friends before I move. I'm honestly starting to feel a little overwhelmed with it all, to tell you the truth. I mean, I want to see people...all the people, but I haven't had a day to decompress in awhile and it is getting to me. Whew. I need a moment for sure. Oh well. It'll come.

  1. That kimono is absolutely adorable and perfect for the summer :) Also, congrats on graduating!

    1. Thank you so very much! It has definitely become one of my wardrobe favorites!
