At The Park & Ride

Have you ever heard of PAX? It's pretty much this (apparently) big deal gaming convention that happens in Seattle every year. Michael was super pumped about going to it this year, and was stoked he got tickets because they sold out in like 25 minutes, which is pretty crazy. This is what I wore the day that I was able to go with him, and I must say I stuck out a bit. Not that I cared to much, I was there to be with him, not to try the Oculus Rift or anything snazzy, so I didn't mind looking like a bit of an overdressed odd ball. I felt very 60's with my shirt and half-a-hive, which is something I am always ok with, regardless of the occasion.

M and I had planned to take the bus to PAX because we knew parking would be an absolute nightmare that we just did not want to pay for, but we also had no idea when to take outfit photos. We certainly didn't want to lug my camera around all day because it wasn't the type of event either of us wanted photos of. We went back and forth about ten times whether or not to bring it, then upon arriving at the bus station realized we had just missed the bus, but that gave us about 20 minutes to take some photos. I must say I was thrilled because an unwanted camera gets quite heavy if you're walking around all day. So we busted these out in the back of the Kenmore park and ride, and I was able to ditch not only my camera, but my purse as well. Total score.

The day ended up being pretty fun, and even though I wasn't into the event, Michael promised he'd go with me to a blogger or makeup or whatever event if I ever attended one, so it was completely worth it. (Plus, you know, I got to spend time with him.) The next day I was able to photograph his brother's 10 year high school reunion, which was totally new for me, and I must say that it was just as awkward as you would imagine a reunion being. So. Awkward. I hope at least one of you watched my Snapchat story of all the funny scrap photos.

  2. I am not a gamer, and am not really into video games, but conventions are fun. I'm not sure if I would enjoy PAX or not, but I think it'd be a cool experience. I much prefer general comic conventions, though I am dying to go to a Harry Potter convention...haha. I would also like to go to a book convention!

    1. Yeah, I play Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon, so I am definitely not into it, haha. Although the convention atmosphere was fun, I think seeing Michael get all excited about things was the best part of my day. I did try on a small cell phone run VR helmet, but it made me really, really motion sick.
And I would SO go to a Harry Potter convention. Omg. Yes please.
