Almost Inappropriate

Finding nice clothing to wear while nursing is really tricky. I know I've been complaining a lot about the non-options breast feeding mothers have, but I just can't get over it. I want to wear all my cute summer clothes with cutouts or open backs, but the necessity of a bra at all times completely goes against any such styles. It's tragic. And on top of it all the straps to said bras are stupid fat, so even more clothing (read: most tank tops) are ruled out because the straps would show, and I am not about that. The final cherry on top of the shit sundae that is breastfeeding and my wardrobe is that even if I find something that works over the damn bras it also needs to provide easy access to my boobs. Basically the only hassle free item I have found is the stretchy and/or baggy tee, but that isn't exactly wedding attire and that's what I needed to find on the 16th to photograph the second half of my friend Grete's wedding. So I opted for cute and totally impractical for nursing and just dealt with it.

This Pepaloves romper has been hanging in my closet since the first time I styled it ages ago because when I washed it the outer shell shrunk but not the lining, so it stuck out of the shorts like no one's business. In a very last minute rush at like midnight the day before we left to drive to Bellingham I separated the lining from the outside and hand sewed it back together so it matched up. It took me wayyyy too long and then I realized that it was much, much shorter, but I was recklessly committed at that point (I mean, the outfit I planned was just so dang cute!) so I decided to rock it and thank the stars that I am so short. At a few points I'm sure one or two people saw a little more booty than they should have, but whatever. I just don't care anymore. Whipping out your boobs in public to feed your baby will greatly raise your threshold for embarrassment, and greatly lower the amount of fucks you give. True story.

The wedding ended up going fabulously, and I even managed to feed Coco during dinner time! I wouldn't have been able to do any of it had Michael not been there to hang out with her and feed her when I was busy bopping around taking photos. He was so cute dancing around to the music with her, I just can't even. He's one hot daddy if I do say so myself.

On that ragingly off-topic note, let me transition your attention to this gorgeous cat ear headband that I was sent from the utterly lovely lady behind Adorned By Chi. All of the things she has sent me (see other items here and here) have been absolutely fabulous. Her packaging is beyond thoughtful, and everything she sells is something that you need, I promise. She also somehow seems to magically get that I love everything colorful and only wear gold and not silver. I'm telling you, she's magical.

I hope everyone's summer is going well. Have you gotten to go to any weddings?
